“Choose France”: A strategic meeting
Foreign businesses play a major role in the French economy. Since its creation in 2018, the “Choose France” summit has illustrated each year the importance of foreign investment in supporting growth, innovation and employment throughout France.
An already strong foreign presence
Multinational businesses have a long-term presence in France, particularly in high value-added sectors, such as energy, new technologies, agri-food and manufacturing.
They actively contribute to the economic dynamism of France’s regions, including medium-sized cities. By 2023, the 19,100 foreign subsidiaries in France will account for:
- 13% of the salaried workforce
- 16% of investments
- 17% of national value-added
- 21% of total revenues
(French National Institute for Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), November 2025)
They also account for 41% of French goods exports and 50% of the capital of CAC 40 businesses (French Customs Authorities, April 2025).
These indicators reflect a deep and lasting integration of multinational firms into the French economy.
“Choose France” in figures
Since its creation, the “Choose France” summit has been a privileged moment for exchanges on the economic attractiveness of France, between foreign businesses and foreign investors, the French executive and leading French firms.
Since 2018:
- 231 projects announced
- €88 billion in investments
In 2025:
- 53 announcements, accounting for €40.8 billion
- 206 foreign business leaders in attendance
- 400 bilateral meetings between French authorities and leaders
- Two roundtables with the President of the Republic (artificial intelligence and critical minerals)
- Three thematic workshops (South Korea, cinema, tourism)
This format promotes direct dialogue at the highest level and accelerates the realization of investment projects.
