French minimum wage raised as of June 1, 2026
The French minimum wage (SMIC) increased by 2.41% on June 1, 2026, bringing the gross monthly salary for a full-time position to €1,867.02, compared with €1,823.03 since January 1.
This automatic adjustment has implications across many areas. It notably affects international talent mobility and the recruitment of foreign employees in France, as several residence permits are tied to income or salary thresholds indexed to the SMIC, which are therefore automatically increased as well. This applies in particular to the Talent “Business Creator”, the French Tech Visa for Founders, and the Talent “Corporate Officer” permits.
